Someone once gave me some tips on how to blog well. One of the points was to put a captivating title. How did I do?
So, Friday past (January 10th), my husband went for surgery to get a hernia repaired. I thought it was going to be a quick little surgery, in and out, back to normal soon-ish. I was right about a few things, the surgery was quick, we were in and out the same day, but getting back to normal soon is far from happening. He is unable to lift anything for 4-6 weeks which we knew beforehand. But no one told me that he was going to be stuck in bed for days (I underestimated the amount of pain he would be in). I wish there was more that I could do to help him, but I can't help the pain he is feeling. **Note to people that need to get a hernia repaired = you will be in much pain for days and get a urinal - not to mention other things that happen when you have surgery.
I was looking forward to doting on him, being his nurse, answering his beckoning calls......until the flu decided to join our family for a few days.
Petra woke up Saturday (1 day post-op for Josh) with a high temperature and just not her perky self. We treated her with some Tylenol and Motrin. By the evening, Galilee was pooping her pants and she had a high temperature as well. So, treated her with some Tylenol. Galilee was up most of the night needing something.
Yesterday, I definitely added NURSE to my job description. Cleaning poopy panties, making meals (that no one ate because they were all sick), giving medications to bring the temperatures, tucking little girls under blankies to watch movies, cuddling, etc.
Titus and I were best friends yesterday. Until last night.
Last night Titus was up all night. Could be the flu/cold he was getting from the girls or the 3 teeth that have decided to bless his mouth all at the same time.
All 3 children are sick today. Diarrhea, not eating, high temps, moaning, groaning, crying, sooking. My husband is a bit better but still in a lot of pain.
So, I've concluded that there is one down side to having a big family......when they all get sick at once - it sucks!!
But, I love my family. I love the fact that I get to take care of them.....even if the baby is droning in the background for the last 3 hours......
HELP!
:( Good luck!
