May is a busy month for our family.
Let's get you all up to date and start near the beginning of where I left off.....
May 6th - Happy Birthday to the man I love! I decided this year to get Josh a good gift. As some of you know, Josh started a weight loss challenge and I'm so proud to say that he has lost 85 lbs. He has quite a bit to go but he has come so far! He has worked so hard. I don't normally get him anything for his birthday but he had been talking about getting an iPad for a few months. I was done with buying the rubber boots that NEVER fit him and then have to return, clothes are just boring (useful but boring), and I wasn't about to buy something just to buy something to give him on his birthday. So, I got him an iPad - he was surprised and he loved it! The girls suggested cupcakes and flowers :) We didn't get flowers for him but we did get cupcakes and they were delicious.
Josh's birthday. 34 for Josh; 3 for Petra; and 4 for Galilee. We made good use of the candles this year!
Mr. Handsome
May 8th - Happy Birthday to my oldest princess, Galilee Grace. Galilee turned 4 years old and ever since this day she has been reminding us that she is a BIG girl now that she's 4. This goes both ways because when she is disobedient we also remind her that she is 4 now :) We went out for a lovely breakfast at Smitty's for her and then went to the Fun Place for some playtime with her friends. To top it off she wanted to go to Pizza Delight (her favourite restaurant) for lunch. It was great because it was free! She is very athletic, funny, smart, and energetic. We love our orange-haired girly!
May 10th Happy Anniversary to my love! We've been married for 6 years and I love this man more than I did the day I married him. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. God has given us a wonderful happy life together this far. He has blessed us beyond measure. I'm so happy to share this life with him.
May 11th Happy Mother's Day. I was hoping for another addition on mother's day, but to no avail. I didn't get pictures this year of me and my children. But, I was greeted in bed by 2 excited girls and breakfast. My hubby got up early and made me a special waffle breakfast topped with berries and apple juice. Josh had brought a picnic blanket up to our bed and the girls also joined me in bed for breakfast. Precious memories made!
May 13th Adaya Kathlyn Poole was born. I was induced with Adaya at 9:00am and at 2:05pm she entered the world. As most of you know, we had to go to Halifax for an ultrasound to further investigate whether or not she had Down Syndrome. The doctor at the time told us that if she did have DS then it may not be visibly noticeable to look at her. We are still waiting on some blood work to come back to determine whether she has it or not. We wanted her tested in case down the road she has some learning disabilities. They can't visibly see any signs that she has Down Syndrome. She came out, she is/was perfect. Tears filled my eyes as I beheld my 4th beautiful child. My thoughts were, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made". God blessed me again. This gorgeous perfect gift came from above.
Adaya means God's jewel.
Kathlyn means pure. Kathlyn was Josh's Grammie Poole's middle name. She passed away August 2013 and we had talked about using this middle name if we ever had another girl.
Adaya Kathlyn born May 13, 2014 at 2:05 pm weighing 7 lbs 11 oz and 18'' long. She has lots of hair and is pretty content. She sleeps from 11pm-7am....it's nice :) She does seem to wake around 530/600 but she is comforted by a soother until 630/700. It's so nice to be able to sleep so long at night. I forgot what feeding/being up through the night felt like....exhaustion!
Behold God's jewel!
Petra absolutely LOVES Adaya. Petra protects her and makes sure she has everything she needs!
May 17th - Titus' 1st birthday! I love this little man. He is too cute. My only son and he has captured Mama's heart. I've become soft since I've had Titus. There's just something special about little boys. He's a brute but has a gentle heart. He's goofy and so content. He also has a temper that sometimes shines through. He is on the move - I'm just waiting for him to start walking soon. He can move around the furniture well. He LOVES to eat - he can eat! He loves Galilee. She is the only one that can make him belly laugh. We've also learned recently that he loves Adaya. He went to the doctor and they noticed a heart murmur. It is probably innocent the doctor said but he is going for an ECG and to meet with the paediatrician next week to check him out. Pray for him. For his birthday we got him a tuxedo (black and white) cupcake. He very much enjoyed it! Happy Birthday bud!
May 24th (for this year only) - The kids' birthday party. We celebrated all the kids' birthday on this day. Petra's birthday is in June but since all the birthdays are within 2 weeks, it just made it easier. The theme this year was "FROZEN" (the movie). Our girls absolutely love it and the colours worked well for having a boy too :) We got the cake done at Candi's Cakes and Creations in Montague, which I must admit, I'm in there way too often....outside of birthday season :) It was such a yummy cake. They did a lovely job of Sven and Olaf. I found cool puffy snowflake type decorations at Price Mart in Charlottetown and balloons to match. Since Galilee loves ALL the princesses, we had some Princess themed boxes that held candy which the kids got to do up treat bags at the end of the party. Galilee wanted to be Princess Sophia so we did a little section of the kitchen in Princess Sophia theme. Galilee dressed up as Princess Sophia and Petra was Princess Anna for the party. The boys were suppose to be cowboys for Toy Story theme...but I couldn't find anything to decorate with...so princess and cowboys it was! We also got a HUGE Elsa and Anna balloon for Petra's birthday and an Elsa and Anna poster was given to us for the girls birthday and completed our decorations. We had chips, carrot sticks, and BBQ hotdogs for lunch! We had a few games such as pin the carrot nose on Olaf, and we did another game where you had to throw a ball into a can. Some cans had treats in them, you kept throwing until you got it in a can with a treat in it. We may do more games next year. After everyone left we cleaned up and after supper we just couldn't help but set up the new BOUNCY CASTLE.....in our house. Yep! It was super tight. It is the dimension of our entire kitchen from counters to the fridge to the stove gate and beyond! The kids had a blast! And Adaya slept the party away :)
Josh was also off for 2 weeks before this so it was great to have him home. Yesterday was the first day I was home by myself with 4 kids....for 12 hours. It went amazingly well. My day was full of feeding babies, watching movies, playing dress up, reading books, a little nap, lots of laundry, sorting through big girl clothes, cleaning and feeling blessed that I'm able to stay home right now to care for my children. Each day I learn something new on this adventure called motherhood. I have a long way to go but the Lord is teaching and helping me along the way.
This is my family. Perfect blessings from above. I love them so much. I am thankful!

you have a wonderful family! Loved reading about your busy month :)
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing. and you have a beautiful family. Hopefully Titus's little heart is ok, I'm told that murmurs are generally not a big deal. I'm not a heart expert yet but I'm getting there!
