A Tribute to Petra!

Today was a big day in our house.  Petra turned 3 years old!!

It started off with a birthday breakfast which consisted of Toaster Strudels and Blueberry muffins and a glass of milk to wash it all down.

Then we went shopping for some soccer equipment for Galilee's soccer debut which happened later in the day.  We hit up That Fun Place for some energy burning time with our friends Vivi and Simon.

We went to lunch at Dairy Queen and got a new (to them) ice cream treat - the Dilly Bar.  We had a few errands to run and then we came home.

Petra is pretty easy going and she goes along with whatever is happening so sometimes it's really hard to tell what she really likes or what she really enjoys.  But tonight I made garlic fingers for supper because I know that's probably one of her favourite foods.

We then took Galilee to her first soccer outing.  And went out for one last birthday treat - timbits! A very unhealthy day for eating, but they enjoyed it. :)

Petra.  What can I say.  She was my easiest labor/delivery.  Thank you for that!  She is so kind hearted.  She ALWAYS looks out for all her siblings.  She makes sure the toilet lid is down and the bathroom door is shut at all times so Titus doesn't get into the bathroom.  She makes sure the gate is on the stairs so he doesn't climb the stairs.  The first peep that Adaya makes, she's right there trying to meet her every need.  If Galilee is too shy to ask for something, she needs to help and ask for her to make sure Galilee is happy.

She is our free spirited child.  She is very easy going most of the time but she gets worked up when things don't match (like her jammie top and bottoms HAVE to match).  She forever needs something in her hand when she goes to sleep.  We laugh because if we are in the van, she uses the strap to her carseat buckle!  She is petite and cute.  She's sweet and talkative.  She can talk!  She is smart and funny.  She is so clutsy but yet she is determined to do everything that Galilee does - and usually succeeds - eventually after some minor injuries.  She is polite and always tries to please me.

She hates toe jam.  She will actually run along and stop, sit down, take her socks off, pick her toe jam, and put her socks back on and continue doing what she was doing without even thinking how weird that is!

I love her to the moon and back!  I'm thankful that the Lord has blessed us with this beautiful quirky daughter.  She makes my heart warm and happy.

So, now that we're into June and the May celebrations have passed for everyone else, today is your day my beautiful girl!  Happy 3rd Birthday BIG girl!
